Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday (May 19) granted another deadline extension for the payment of LDA City development charges on account of the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country, a news source reported.

The LDA Director General (DG) Ahmed Aziz Tarar granted the approval to this extension on a proposal submitted by the LDA Additional DG Urban Planning Rana Tikka Khan. The new deadline to submit the development charges for LDA City Housing Scheme is June 15.

However, the deadline has been extended for the third time since the imposition of the COVID-19 lockdown on February 26. While the LDA offices have remained open to public under implementation of strict SOPs devised to contain the local transmission of the COVID-19 infection, many people still have reservations against visiting public places.
Meanwhile, developmental work is underway in full swing at the project site ever since the federal government lifted the ban on the construction sector – in order to provide employment opportunities to the labour class. It is pertinent to mention here that the development authority awarded the developmental work contract for society’s Jinnah Sector to Habib Construction Services on April 27.
