Karachi: Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab on Monday (February 7) inaugurated parks in Clifton and Saddar for locals in order to provide quality recreational facilities in the city, according to media reports.

Administrator Wahab, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, stated that all the parks and playgrounds are property of the people. He went on to say that the illegal occupation or encroachment of parks and playgrounds were removed to turn these places into exquisite playgrounds and parks for the public.
As per the details, the administrator inaugurated the Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Park and Senior Citizen Family Park in Clifton. Another park – Gabriel Park – in Saddar was open to the public. The three parks have been restored and renovated by the District Municipal Corporation (DMC-South).

Moreover, a campaign to plant more trees was also underway in a bid to make Karachi greener. Karachi Administrator Wahab disclosed that traditional shade trees will be planted along roadsides and open spaces. Also, arrangements for campaign, protection, and irrigation of trees have been made.
