Lahore: The Punjab government on Wednesday (December 08) decided to construct parking spaces and walkways areas along with metro orange train stations, news sources reported. The Lahore development authority (LDA) has presented an estimate totalling PKR 30.66 million for the first phase of the project.

As per the details, currently, a parking facility is available at Ali Town and GPO metro orange train stations only with no other alternative for commuters and even officials and management of the metro train stations. Under the project, the government will construct parking stations at Dhobi Ghat Stop, and from GT Road Stop, Band Road stop. Similarly, a parking stand will also be built at the Government Women College Baghban Pura stop. In addition to this, the drain system and renovation of the stations will also be executed in the first phase of the project.

It was reported that the proposed first phase of the project will be completed in four months. In this regard, LDA has invited bids from the interested parties.
