Peshawar: The business community has requested the authorities concerned to construct a multi-storey parking plaza in the cantonment area in order to address traffic issues, a news source reported.

Several traders raised the issue during a meeting, which was held at Shafi Market in Peshawar’s Saddar area. Ali Mubarak, former president of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and Shaukatullah Khan were also present at the occasion.
They expressed their concerns over growing traffic congestion in the area. They added that the provincial government has yet to solve the traffic issues in urban areas.
The business community urged the district administration to monitor the entry of motorbikes in markets and bazaars. It also requested the officials concerned to build a parking plaza in the area.

They stressed on the need to develop the city’s infrastructure and said that the government should rehabilitate roads and remove encroachments in the provincial capital.
