Rawalpindi: To sort out traffic issues in the city, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved plans for construction of a parking plaza near Fawara Chowk in the old office building of Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC), reported a news source. The multi-storey car parking facility will span 20 kanals of land and will be built along modern lines with an estimated cost of PKR 50 million.
With approval granted for the new parking plaza, the process to demolish the old RMC building has started. The new plaza, construction of which will be managed and supervised by RMC, will have shops on one of the floors while the project is to be completed in one year.
