Lahore: Pakistan’s ranking in the Global Real Estate Transparency Index has increased to the 75th position, with a score of 3.99, according to a news report. Pakistan has jumped up by 15 positions to this rank. During 2016, Pakistan was ranked at the 88th position. The improvement has occurred as a result of enhancement in transparency over the past two years, regulatory reforms, and increased data collection.
This is a bi-annual report which measures transparency on the basis of 186 components from 6 Sub-Indices. The data reveals that the average transparency scores kept improving over this period. Overall, South Asia and Southeast Asia contributed the most in the Asia-Pacific region, touching USD 149 billion for 2017.
