Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved an ambitious project to establish a 200-acre international standard zoo and safari park in Islamabad, as reported on August 8.

As per details, this grand facility will be home to 5,000 animals and birds from around the globe, with 2,000 to be introduced in the first phase. The minister emphasised the project’s significance, highlighting its potential to become Pakistan’s first international standard zoo and safari park. He directed the registration of the facility with the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums and urged officials to expedite all related matters. The foundation stone is expected to be laid in October.
The project was reviewed during a meeting chaired by Minister Naqvi at the CDA headquarters. Chairman CDA Mohammad Ali Randhawa provided detailed briefings on the project’s scope and benefits. The initiative aims to boost tourism in Islamabad and offer world-class recreational facilities to residents and visitors alike.
