Islamabad: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Ghazanfar Bilour said Pakistan wastes up to 10 trillion gallons of water annually, according to a news report. Bilour is of the view that small dams should be built all across the country rather than bigger projects which get attacked by controversies.
He believes that this will help revolutionise the agricultural and industrial sectors as well. Bilour further added that 90% of water is utilised by the agricultural sector but budget allocated for agricultural research is below 1% of the GDP which is causing huge losses of water. Bilour is of the view that modern technologies should be employed to reduce water usage for agricultural purposes.
