London: Tech experts and innovators on Thursday launched an initiative aimed at promoting greater connectivity and fostering economic growth between the technology sectors of Pakistan and the United Kingdom, a news source reported.

The forum, organised by Tech London Advocates Pakistan (TLA), brought together leaders, entrepreneurs and technology experts hailing from the two countries.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK Nafees Zakaria and UK’s Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan Elin Burns attended the event as keynote speakers.
Zakaria said that IT industry is included among top five net exporters in Pakistan. He added that the country has a huge human and knowledge capital as 64% of the population is below the age of 29.

He informed the participants that Pakistan was ranked third among the world’s most financially attractive locations for offshore services in 2017. Many international companies such as Bentley, Ciklum, IBM, Mentor Graphics, S&P Global, Symantec, Teradata, and VMware are operating in Pakistan.
