The advisor said that Islamabad planned to send several officials to Finland in the first week of October in order to study the initiatives adopted by the Scandinavian country for building a zero-waste economy. Aslam said that he was impressed by Finland’s progress and success in carrying out waste reduction programmes.
He informed the ambassador that his government wanted to transform the federal capital into a ‘waste-free city’; adding that a Finnish company had offered its assistance on this front. He said that Pakistan was committee to eradicating the effects of climate change under its national sustainable development strategy.
