Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has said that his government would announce incentives to encourage overseas Pakistanis to send remittances through proper banking channels, a news source reported. He also said that all hindrances and procedural issues will be removed to make the process easier.
In a series of tweets, Khan hoped that by removing these hindrances, the inflow of remittances will be increased from USD 20 billion annually to USD 30 billion and perhaps even USD 40 per annum. He referred to the success of Philippines in the matter.
Hassles overseas Pakistanis face in immigration when they visit Pakistan will be removed, he said. The Prime Minister also assured the overseas Pakistanis that the government will ensure protection for properties and land of overseas Pakistan land mafia.
