Islamabad: The government set up its first international tourist information corner in a bid to introduce international community to the country’s tourism sector, a news source reported.

Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari inaugurated the information corner at the Pakistani Embassy in Brussels on Tuesday. It features books and brochures on tourist attractions in Pakistan.
Officials of the European Commission and External Action Service, diplomats, politicians, academics, tour operators, and people from other professions attended the launch ceremony.
Addressing the participants, Dr Mazari highlighted various initiatives introduced by her government to develop the tourism sector. These include introduction of a liberal visa policy as well as development of tourism spots.

She said that the government wants to develop the sector in such a way that the environment remains protected. To facilitate this measure, it has introduced several environmental protection campaigns.
