Consequently, Turkey has asked the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to provide more information. Turkish authorities have also asked the board to verify whether the FBR DG International Taxes Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad had the authority to issue such a request.
The Turkish authorities have further asked the FBR to provide the background information, and the duration for which the data is required, regarding any tax evader. They added that it would be much more useful if the board could share any available details on the transactions and accounts pertaining to the individuals under scrutiny.
