Lahore: The CEOWorld Magazine, one of the leading international business publications, recently ranked Pakistan as the most affordable place to live in the world; out of a survey of 132 countries in total — according to a news source. Reportedly, the assessment was based on five key matrices i.e. purchasing power, cost of living, eating out, groceries and rent.

As per the magazine’s report, war-struck countries such as Syria and Afghanistan are more expensive to live in than Pakistan. On the other hand, the world’s most expensive country, as per the magazine’s findings, is Switzerland. Among the top 20 most expensive countries, nine are from Europe and five are from Asia.

Pakistan’s score for cost of living was determined to be 21.98, while the country scored 4.59 points on the rent index. The index points are compared with the New York City index set as a benchmark with a score of 100. Pakistan scored 19.08 and 30.57 points respectively on the groceries and purchasing power indexes.

The CEOWorld Magazine ranked Norway, Iceland, Japan and Denmark as the second, third, fourth and fifth most expensive cities to live in the world right now.
