Islamabad: A US-based, award-winning luxury and lifestyle travel magazine publication, Condé Nast Traveler, has ranked Pakistan as the ‘Best International Holiday Destination’ for 2020, according to news sources. The factors that contributed to the country’s top rank include, as per the magazine’s account, its ancient valley-studded topography, relaxed visa restrictions, and the recent visit by the British royal couple (the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) in October.

The official website of the magazine highlighted that Pakistan was finally getting deserved attention. It referred to the fact that Pakistan was home to a greater number of peaks taller than 22,965ft as compared to China and Nepal together. It added that the country harboured exquisite landscapes; making it a ‘magnetic spot’ for adventure-seeking travelers and hikers.
The magazine also praised the world’s highest polo field in Shandur Pass, Pakistan. There was also mention of the ancient and culture-rich civilisation of Kalash. The city of Lahore also warranted a mention for being home to the 17th-century Badshahi mosque and other Mughal-era architectural gems.
