Islamabad: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said that the Pakistan Railways will expand the existing network of railways with the help of China Railways, stated a news report. While talking to media, Rashid said that the government is about to bring a revolution in Railways. He said that the government fully supports the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and that the work on the rail link between Quetta and the port city of Gwadar would be carried out to provide a direct link to all the important railway stations in the country.
Rashid also said that recommendations are being made to upgrade rolling stocks so that a respectable and inexpensive mode of transportation can be provided to the masses.
