Lahore: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid on Thursday revealed that the Pakistan Railways (PR) would establish ticket counters in the Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan train stations – where reservation facilities would remain open from 8 am to 5 pm, a news source reported.

The minister said that a technical fault in the online ticket booking system has been identified owing to which the PR has decided to establish these ticket counters at the three mentioned railway stations. He revealed that the ministry has also decided to establish similar ticket reservation counters in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, and Sukkur.

Earlier, the Pakistan Railways had resumed train services in different cities in light of Eid holidays – subject to strict compliance with the anti-COVID-19 SOPS issued by the government. However, sources pointed out that a limited number of passengers were seen boarding the trains due to the fault experienced in the online ticket booking system.
