Rawalpindi: Pakistan Railway (PA) has decided to give its land and buildings that haven’t been in use on lease for a time period of three years, reported a new source. Lease of PA properties will done through open auction.
In this regard, instructions have been given to prepare the list of buildings and land to be given on lease. This initiative was taken to keep the buildings from further dilapidation and also to generate annual income. Given on a commercial lease, the lease period will be extendable, while PA can take back the property as and when it needs it.
In the first phase, PA property in Rawalpindi Division, the waiting hall of Mandra Railway Station, Kaki Cooperative Store Building in Jhelum Railway Station, a warehouse in Malikwal Railway Station, PA Bungalows 117 and 207, and several goods sheds will be put up on auction to be leased.
