These agreements were finalised during the two-day state visit of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who, alongside Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, presided over the signing ceremony in Islamabad.
The MoUs would allow Pakistan and Qatar to establish a Joint Working Group (JWG) on trade and investment, promote linkages in the field of tourism, business events and hospitality industry, and exchange cooperation on financial intelligence to prevent money laundering and terrorism-financing.
The two countries also agreed to pursue opportunities for joint collaborations in the energy sector (including setting up joint ventures for oil and gas exploration), maritime affairs, aviation, higher education, and defence production.
