Rawalpindi: Pakistan Post Office (PO) has decided to open its rest houses for the tourists visiting the country, a news source reported. The authority has decided to take this step in order to increase its income generation. It will open its 36 rest houses located across the country, and has finalised a rent lower than the open market hotels and rest houses.

Among these rest houses of the Pakistan PO, there are 11, 20, and five of A, B and C categories, respectively. The rents have been decided as follows
- A Category: PKR 3,000 daily
- B Category: PKR 2,200 daily
- C Category: PKR 1,200 daily
The authority has stated that this measure will help it increase its yearly income significantly.

The A Category rest houses are located in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Quetta, Mianwali, Jhelum, and Sialkot. The B Category rest houses are located in Chitral, Murree, Attock, Ayubia, Abbottabad, Mirpur Khas, Kohat, Amari, Qilat, Muzzaffarabad, Mirpur, Taftan, Surab, Kotli, Skardu, Gujrat, Layyah, Susat, and Gilgit. Meanwhile, the C Category rest houses are available in Pindi Point, Bannu, Said-o-Sharif, Ziarat, Murree, and Sialkot.
