The removal of Pakistan from the list has been prompted by the country’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list in October after it complied with the conditions for tighter control of money laundering and terrorist financing.

As per the foreign minister’s official Twitter handle, the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has issued a notification stating that Pakistan has been formally removed from the High-Risk countries on account of its early removal from the FATF’s grey list. The UK added Pakistan to the list mentioned above in April last year for the lack of tax controls and financial monitoring.
