Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has invited applications from artists, painters and architects for the development of ‘Pakistan Movement Park’ in Islamabad, news sources reported. The said park is being developed in Sector H-8 alongside the Islamabad Expressway.

Reportedly, the park will be inaugurated on March 23, 2022, on Pakistan Day. The park will have two-dimensional (2D) artworks as well as three-dimensional (3D) walls depicting the biggest migration in human history during the 1947 partition. It was stated that the park development is in its final stages, with the civil work being completed. Painters and artists interested in the project will be hired to emphasise park’s features and create themes depicting Pakistan’s history in visual form. Similarly, the park will be used as a canvas for students to observe national values and characteristics. It was also revealed that the park will be accessible from Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

It is important to remember that the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) authority has approved two new parks in the city including Pakistan’s largest Ferris Wheel in Lake View Park and Bhara Kahu Park. Both projects have been approved by the CDA and the funds have been allocated.
