Lahore: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued its first ever license in the history of Pakistan for power production from solid waste, reported a new source. The license has been issued to a Chinese firm.
According to details, the Chinese company will produce 40 megawatts of electricity from waste collected from within the city, which is a major development in renewable energy production. The power plant will account for getting rid of 2,000 tons of solid waste from the city. The electricity produced by it will be charged at PKR 10.31 per unit.
