Tehran: Iran’s Petroleum for International Affairs Deputy Minister Amir Hoseein Zamani-Nia said that Iran welcomes the continuation of talks with Pakistan on the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, as per a news report. An Iranian news agency reported that that Zamani-Nia added that Tehran-Islamabad ties have always been historic and brotherly and that religious and cultural bonds provide the common ground for these to further strengthen.
The Deputy Minister also added that Iran considers energy and gas sectors as important for promoting regional cooperation and solidarity between the two countries. The Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline or the IP pipeline is a 2,775 kilometer-long pipeline to deliver natural gas from Iran to Pakistan.
