Lahore: The Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) – in collaboration with a private furniture firm – will represent the national furniture market at the ‘China-Eurasia Expo’ that’s to be held in Urumqi-China, news sources reported on August 17. The six-day event will be held from August 25-30.

According to reports, a number of foreign furniture businesses from across the world will join the exhibition, with their products on display for the worldwide consumer market. In this regard, PFC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mian Kashif Ashfaq stated that the exhibition will be a unique opportunity for Pakistan’s furniture entrepreneurs to gain the worldwide exposure they deserve. Furthermore, he stated that the PFC, in collaboration with its local partner, would arrange meetings with other participating enterprises to ink deals and exchange ideas to grow our furniture exports to the rest of the globe.

It is worth noting that Pakistan is one of the leading furniture export markets, accounting for a considerable share of the worldwide market. The recent growth in the building sector due to government-backed housing initiatives has led to a significant increase in local consumption of furniture and other items.
