Islamabad: Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T) Aminul Haque has said that serious measures are being taken to increase IT-related exports as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, a news source reported on August 16.

The minister said that he is hopeful that after registering a record USD 2.1 export target, the USD 5 billion targets will also be achieved. Haque added that the ministry’s corporation is critical for bringing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country’s IT industry in order to meet the USD 5 billion objectives.
‘In order to meet the objective, the government launched 25 IT-related initiatives worth PKR 31 billion in various remote areas of the country in the last fiscal year, with the number of projects reaching the total count of 30 in the current fiscal year’ added Haque.

The Ministry of Finance has recently announced a PKR 10 billion package for the uplift of IT and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) in Pakistan.
