Haripur: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s recent project in Haripur — called the ‘Pakistan Digital City’ — is expected to create over 30,000 jobs, according to a news source. The officials concerned further announced that the government would finalise the masterplan for this project in October.

As per the information available, this project will be located in the Haripur District, and over 4.5 hectares of land have already been allocated for the development of the Pakistan Digital City. The authorities concerned are later expected to procure additional land to expand this project and to offer private investors the option of leasing the land as well.

The Pakistan Digital City project is expected to become one of the top digital hubs of the country. It will include software houses, technology incubators, equipment manufacturers, and other related setups that are estimated to generate over 30,000 jobs in the country. The venture’s aim is to provide employment to the pool of Information Technology (IT) graduates in Pakistan, and also help the country stay abreast with the digital age. This will, in turn, benefit the national economy as well.
