Islamabad: Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan Lis Rosenholm stated that Pakistan has sought Denmark’s help for green transition policies to support sustainable development, integrate renewable energy, and mitigate climate change, according to a news story published on June 9.

As per the details, speaking at the ceremony of Constitution Day in Islamabad, the ambassador mentioned that biological and environmental degradation and climate change are the biggest challenges of the present times. She revealed that Denmark and Pakistan adopted the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement in 2015 to promote cooperation on climate action, gender equality, human rights, and sustainable development.

Moreover, the ambassador mentioned that Denmark has decades of experience in the integration of ‘renewables, energy planning, offshore wind and energy efficiency’. The country is a global leader in transforming the energy sector from fossil fuels to renewable energy. She went on to say that Pakistan’s green transition policies and Denmark’s expertise in sustainable growth will become the basis of stronger cooperation.
