Islamabad: The Islamabad Expressway will remain closed for all traffic for three days this week due to the Pakistan Day parade, according to a news report. The parade is to set to take place at Parade Ground on Friday, March 23, and the expressway will remain closed on the 19th, 21st, and 23rd.
The Islamabad Expressway will remain closed from Zero Point to Khanna Pul from 5am to 2pm, according to an announcement by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP); Murree Road will be closed from Rawal Dam Chowk to Faizabad, and so will Faizabad interchange.
The ban on trucks will be longer as they will be banned from entering the expressway between midnight to 2pm on all three days. The traffic will be diverted to GT Road and Peshawar Road instead. Lehtrar Road and Ninth Avenue Road have been recommended by ITP for traffic to Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
Kashmir Highway will, however, remain open for traffic on all three days.
