The report emphasised that the water security of the country is fragile. As per the UN University’s Global Water Security 2023 Assessment, 33 nations — from three different regions — have attained water security; however, all the regions comprised countries that had inadequate levels of water security.
The study presents a holistic analysis of the condition of water security in 186 nations impacting 7.8 billion people. The findings of the study are concerning as 78% of the world’s population are living in water-stressed areas.
Moreover, it was revealed that more than half of the world’s population doesn’t have access to clean drinking water and sanitation. The news source mentioned that more than 70% population lack access to safe water. The survey disclosed that Sweden and many other European countries have been ranked as the most water-secure country.
