Islamabad: Minister for Interior Ijaz Shah on Wednesday revealed that the country was compliant with all the major conditions set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), according to a news report. The minster disclosed this information during a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

At the same meeting, Shah presented a report to the PM regarding his ministry’s performance over the past 20 months — specifically between August 2018 and April 2020. This report listed the ministry’s various achievements, including fulfilling the major FATF conditions.
The report stated that despite the challenges and concerns, the ministry had delivered by meeting the majority of the requirements, and by taking kinetic and non-kinetic measures, such as legislative amendments.

It also revealed that the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 (ATA) had been amended in line with the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Act. Additionally, it revealed that the Charity Law had been imposed in all provinces, and that the National Action Plan (NAP) against terrorism had been revived.
