Dubai: The Pakistan Citizens Portal app was declared the second best government mobile application in the world at the World Government Summit in Dubai, according to a news source. This prize was awarded based on the app’s performance and progress indicators.
Indonesia won the first prize, while the United States stood third. This prize is being hailed as a significant honour for the country, as 4,646 apps had been submitted from 87 countries.
Prime Minister Imran Khan announced his commendation in a tweet, where he also lauded the app’s achievements. Since its launch on October 28, 2018, the app has received 420,000 complaints, out of which 250,000 have been resolved with a satisfaction rate of 55%.
This is the first time any government application in Pakistan has garnered this level of success or appreciation on the world stage. It was developed for free in a record timeframe of 45 days and has been helping with resolving citizens’ complaints ever since.
