Islamabad: The Interim Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Zafar, stated that Pakistan can produce 28,000 MW of electricity, according to a news source. He also stated that there were four reasons for the continued load shedding in the country.
These four reasons, according to him, were electricity production falling short of demand, technical faults, transmission losses, and water shortage. He added that if there is enough water in the hydroelectric dams and power plants become fully functional, then the electricity generated could be up to 28,000 MW. However, the demand is higher than the current supply, as the current demand is 23,000-24,000 MW, and would further increase in the summer.
