Sheikh made these remarks while addressing a six-member trade delegation from China. He said that Pakistan has a vast amount of fertile land (for all seasons), along with an extensive canal network, but the country has been unable to utilize theses to their full potential due to a lack of modern technology.
He noted that China had turned itself into an economic giant and was helping Pakistan grow as well. He hoped that the transfer of technology would speed up this progress, particularly for Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial sectors.
