Islamabad: Pakistan and Belgium on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) agreement for developing further business and investment ties – a news source reported.
This agreement took place between the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the trade and investment bodies representing all three provinces of Belgium.

These organisations include Flanders Investment and Trade, Wallonia Export Investment Agency, and Brussels Agency for Business Support in Brussels. As per reports, this is the first time that all three regions of Belgium have jointly signed an agreement with another country.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, the European Union and Luxembourg Naghmana Alamgir Hashmi signed the documents on behalf of TDAP. Similarly, Dirk Van Streeteghem, Chantal De Bleu and Laurent Lamberts served as the signatories for their respective organisations.

Ambassador Naghmana said that trade volume between Pakistan and Belgium had surged by 49% during the previous year. She added that Pakistan was an emerging economy with attractive investment opportunities to offer.
She further outlined the government’s policy aimed at transforming the visa regime. She said that measures were being introduced to facilitate both local and foreign investors.
