Islamabad: During Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit of Saudi Arabia, Pakistanis residing there donated an amount worth PKR 80 million for constructing dams in the country, reported a news source. A delegation representing Pakistanis based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia met with Imran Khan in Riyadh and presented the donations collected by the community.
The delegation assured Imran that if he visited only a couple cities in KSA to raise funds for dams, Pakistanis living there will arrange for funds for more than one dam. KSA-based Pakistanis are willing to give their money for such cause because of their trust in the country, members of the delegation said.
According to statistics available on Supreme Court’s official webpage, the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund has so far collected an amount of over PKR 7.05 billion, as of October 26, 2018.
