Islamabad: Pakistan’s Commercial Counsellor in China Badaruz Zaman on Tuesday (January 18) said that the Chinese firms are eager to collaborate with the Pakistani furniture industry, news sources reported. The collaboration will help increase Pakistan’s furniture industry growth and reach higher export potential.

According to the report, Zaman stated during an online conference that the government has finalised the second phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA), which would allow 6,000 items to become duty-free over the next ten years. He also stated that Pakistan’s exports to China have climbed by 70% in the previous three years, which is a positive trend.

Addressing at the occasion, Zhong Ling, the Chinese Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Dezhou and Director of Dezhou Furniture chain stated that the furniture industry has a lot of potential for cooperation. She also stated that collaboration between chambers of business, entities, and other elements is being considered in order to boost bilateral relations. It was said that the assistance of the industrial internet platform, as well as the utilisation of financial and capital strength, will contribute to increasing policy convergence between the two countries.
