Islamabad: The Customs authorities of Pakistan and China announced their joint decision to expedite the clearance process for agricultural products that are being transported under the auspices of the Green Corridor, as per a news report. The Green Corridor will operate as a customs clearance system exclusively for agricultural products, and will work at the Silk Route Dry Port (SRDP) at Sust, Pakistan and the Khunjerab Dry Port at Tashkurgan, China.

Under this consensus, border-management coordination will increase, and focal persons have been nominated to hold regular meetings for this purpose.
Pakistan’s Customs authorities will also share their findings from the Authorised Economic Operation Programme (AEOPs) with their Chinese counterparts. Both administrations will work closely together to exchange information regarding these AEOPs to ensure the smooth flow of trade.

The authorities also decided on a working mechanism between Urumqi Customs and Collector, Model Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad to share information about passengers traveling by air between the two countries.
