Rawalpindi: Azerbaijani Ambassador Ali Alizada on Thursday invited Pakistani businessmen to benefit from investment opportunities in his country.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) President Malik Shahid Saleem, who asked the visiting dignitary to explore the Pakistani market.

The two sides discussed matters pertaining to business ventures, exchange of delegations, and trade information. The envoy said that Azerbaijan and Pakistan enjoy a cordial trade relationship.
The ambassador highlighted various initiatives introduced by his government aimed at improving Azerbaijan’s economy. These measures include tax holidays and an ease of doing business programme.

In a similar effort, he informed that the Central Asian state had relaxed its visa policy. Ambassador Alizada also suggested to increase bilateral trade with respect to food items, construction, and defence production.
In response, RCCI President Saleem informed the envoy about an upcoming ECO trade forum. He said that this platform would offer ‘a tremendous opportunity’ to foreign investors by introducing them to investment opportunities in Pakistan. He also invited Ambassador Alizada to attend the upcoming Rawal International Expo 2019.
