Islamabad: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has disapproved of the audit for a 1,295-kilometre long section of Multan-Sukkur Motorway, according to a news report. The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) pointed out irregularities in this award of contract which was set at higher rates causing a loss of PKR 166.174 billion to a company operating under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
The department of the AGP detected a difference of over PKR 93 billion in the contract and referred back the para of irregularities to the Accounting Committee of the Communication Ministry.
