Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday (Sep 14) announced that overseas Pakistanis can now use the IRIS portal to file income tax returns, according to media reports.

The FBR has created a URL for e-filing of income tax returns on the authority’s website. The non-resident Pakistanis (NRP) can use the IRIS portal to file an income tax return. This decision was taken by the authority keeping in mind the challenges faced by the non-resident Pakistanis in filing their tax returns.

Moreover, it was disclosed that there is no change in the last date to file income tax returns. The last date to file tax returns is still the same i.e. September 30. The IRIS portal was made operational earlier this year (July 1) to facilitate tax filers.
