Lahore: The Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) has provided its approval to the establishment of a new chapter in South Punjab, a news source reported on September 28. The decision was announced during a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar, who stated that the proposed body would ‘provide great relief to the residents of the region’.

The attendees further decided to establish OPC desks at the newly-inaugurated khidmat centres around the country. This move is expected to allow for the resolution of all the issues faced by the overseas Pakistanis at a local level.
The meeting also reviewed and approved amendments in OPC Act 2014, while the Punjab cabinet will give the final approval for these revisions.

On the occasion, the CM also issued instructions for the resolution of all pending issues and cases relating to the overseas Pakistanis.
