As per the given details, the Special Court (Overseas Pakistani Property) Bill is designed to protect the property rights of Pakistanis residing abroad by creating dedicated courts to handle property disputes. These specialized courts are mandated to resolve cases within 90 days of filing, ensuring timely justice for overseas Pakistanis who have long advocated for a streamlined process. Additionally, the new courts will offer an online complaint filing system, allowing overseas Pakistanis to access legal recourse remotely.
Several Senate members praised the bill, calling it a historic step in protecting the rights and interests of the Pakistani diaspora. Senator Irfan Siddiqui expressed that overseas Pakistanis, who contribute a record-breaking USD 3 billion in remittances monthly, are a “precious asset” to the nation and that safeguarding their rights is essential. He noted that the new law would foster stronger ties between overseas Pakistanis and their homeland, assuring them of a legal framework that addresses their property concerns swiftly and effectively.
