Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Friday (November 12) inaugurated ‘Overseas Pakistani Desk’ at the LDA office to protect the properties of Pakistanis living abroad, according to news sources.

The inauguration ceremony was organised by LDA’s ‘One Window Cell’ and the ceremony was attended by LDA Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar and Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice-Chairman Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hassan.
As per the details, the Overseas Pakistani Desk was set up on the orders of Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. The CM directed LDA to operate the desk on a revolutionary and fast track system to resolve all complaints of non-resident Pakistanis within 15 days. In another development, the LDA Town Planning Wing conducted an anti-encroachment operation in Allama Iqbal Town, Sabzazar, and Multan Road. According to sources, an illegal sports club in Sabzazar, several shops in Allama Iqbal Town, and a commercial building on Multan Road were razed.

Reportedly, LDA DG Tarar visited the Shahkam Flyover to review the pace of development work. He asked the concerned authorities to expedite the work and complete the flyover within a stipulated time. It was mentioned that under this project, Defence Road will be widened.
