Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has established a dedicated Overseas Investment Desk (OID) within the KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC), news sources reported on March 17. The special desk was inaugurated by Special Assistant to KP CM (SACM) on Industries and Investment Abdul Karim Tordhe.

SACM Tordhe stated that the initiative would increase the ease of doing business (EOB) and attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the country. He said that the services provided will help inventors get easy access to legal/procedural steps and speed up the investment process. The desk will make the investment protocols simple and easy for overseas Pakistanis and international investors.
He also praised the KP-EZDMC members for their contributions to developing investment-friendly industrial zones by providing industrial-friendly infrastructure.

In a separate meeting held on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), SAMP directed that work on existing development projects in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) be expedited to facilitate Chinese investors.
