Islamabad: A recent Gwadar Pro report has stated that the 88 projects scheduled for completion under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative would create around 2.3 million jobs in the country by 2030, a news source reported on August 10.

The report revealed that out of these 88 CPEC projects, 19 had reached completion status, 28 were in the implantation phase, and 41 were in the pipeline. The projects under implementation include wind and solar power plants, construction of SEZs, and a hydropower project. The ones in pipeline have already obtained approval and completed paperwork but await the beginning of development work.

The Gwadar Pro report indicated that CPEC projects had created about 75,000 jobs for Pakistanis alone within the last six years. It added that the initiative was also significantly supporting the SME sector in the country, along with many transporters having the opportunity to provide services. It revealed that local people and businesses were providing materials for the ongoing projects.
