Multan: The education department has decided to install solar panels in as many as 179 schools situated in Multan district, a news source reported. All preliminary reports have been prepared in this regard.

According to details, at least 88 schools in Saddar area will get solar panels. Similarly, 48 schools in Shujabad and 32 in Multan City will get this facility.
The Punjab government previously sanctioned the transfer of funds to Multan’s education department. The officials have also forwarded the list of schools concerned to the Provincial School Education Department.

According to the Multan education department, this project will be expanded to other areas of the city. The city administration is contemplating completing the project on a public-private partnership basis.
