Lahore: The authorities concerned have reclaimed more than 100,000 acres of state land from illegal occupants across the province during the government’s ongoing anti-encroachment drive, a news source reported.

Minister for Law and Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja recently expressed his views on the matter. He was presiding over a meeting in Lahore on Wednesday.
He informed the participants that the land retrieved was valued at PKR 180 billion. He directed the departments concerned to continue the anti-encroachment drive as per the instructions of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. He said that the operation would commence until there were no more encroachments on state land.

So far, the government has retrieved 7,354 acres of land in Lahore; 58,177 in Dera Ghazi Khan; 20,963 acres in Faisalabad; 11,740 acres in Sargodha; 4,709 acre in Sahiwal; 3,873 acres in Multan; 3,312 acres in Gujranwala; 2,695 acres in Bahawalpur, and 909 acres in Rawalpindi.
