Reportedly, this latest ballot was conducted after eight private landowners agreed to get a 30% exemption for their lands. To ensure that the ballot is conducted in a transparent manner, the plots were allocated through computerised balloting, which was arranged with the help of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
With this latest development, a total of 727 affectees of LDA Avenue-1 have been given allotment letters. Moreover, it was informed that talks are underway to accept the exemption formula and grant possession for the remaining 1,196 plots to allottees.
