Lahore: The amnesty scheme hasn’t borne the expected results, a news sources quoted Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairperson Rukhsana Yasmin. Other reports have shown that the scheme was availed more by overseas Pakistanis, as compared to domestic filers.
Addressing the FBR’s employees at the Tax House, Yasmin said that the scheme was availed mostly by the residents of Lahore and Karachi, where a total of 55,000 people took advantage of it. She further added that the FBR has information regarding people’s assets, and would be taking strict measures against those concealing assets.
